39 Chestnut House Fire - 04/11/2008

At 3:20 AM on April 11, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to respond to 39 Chestnut Street for reports of a fire in the air conditioner. Eleven minutes later, a second dispatch was broadcasted confirming the call as a "working house fire."

At 12:09 PM on March 1, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to the Department of Motor Vehicles for multiple reports of a "truck fire." First arriving units found a compact car fully envolved and quickly stretched two lines. The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was hurt.

On February 23, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department held the annual Chief's dinner honoring Chief Bob Cassiello and his 3 assistant chiefs. The dinner was celebrated at the Venetian in Garfield and a wonderful time was had by all in attendance.

Propane leak at Costa's Trailer Court - 02/17/2008

At approximately 11:30 PM, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to Costa's Trailer Court for reports of a propane leak. Minutes later, the Command on scene alerted dispatch that another leak was found on a separate tank. Arriving units found multiple leaks due to the change in weather conditions. Teams were successful in isolating and protecting the tanks until all leaks were brought under control. No one was injured.

103 Division Street - Boiler Fire - 02/02/2008

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to 103 Division Street with reports of an 'apartment fire.' Dispatch mentioned that all occupants are outside the building. Arriving crews found a light smoke condition before locating the fire in the boiler room. The fire was quickly extinguished using dry chem and no one was hurt.

MVA Rollover - 02/02/2008

At approximately 2:30 AM, the Lodi Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 80. Upon arrival, members of the Hackensack Fire Department and Hackensack EMS were attending to victims inside and outside of the vehicle. The accident involved an 18 wheeler and a Jeep Commander.

Lodi Takes Delivery of Pierce Velocity Ladder Tower

On January 15, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department took delivery of its new 2007 Pierce Velocity Rear Mount 100' Ladder Tower. The Chasis is a Pierce Velocity 8-man cab, with a CAT 550 Engine. Its pump is 2000 GPM and its tank holds 300 gallons of water.

Broken Water Main, Felician College - 01/04/2008

On Friday, January 4, 2008, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to Felician College for an activated fire alarm in Kirby Hall. Upon arrival, a major water flow was discovered in the basement coming from a broken sprinkler head. Cause is unknown.
