Basement Fire - April 22, 2007
On Sunday, April 22, 2007, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to Yolanda Place with a report of a fire. Upon arrival, the officer on scene reported a heavy smoke condition in the basement due to a fire which, reportedly, was already out. The first due interior crew was met with thick, black smoke upon entry with low visibility. The point of origin was found to be a radio which caught fire in a bedroom, sending plumes of smoke from the melting plastic through the apartment. A resident had used a bucket of water to extinguish the fire. The source was removed from the apartment, no extension was found and the apartment was ventilated using positive pressure.
