maltese cross Chinese Food Restaurant Fire on Terhune - 08/11/2007

At 05:42 hours early Saturday morning, The Lodi Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the basement of a Liquor Store on Terhune Ave. Police on scene reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of a Chinese Food Restaurant next to the liquor store.

Second Assistant Chief Telep was first on scene and established command. The members from Engine 615, Engine 612 Ladder 613 forced entry into the building located the fire in the rear of the kitchen area and extinguished the flames without any extension to any of the stores in the strip mall.

The fire was brought under control by 06:45. Mutual aid was received from Wallington FD with a Fast Team, Saddle Brook Engine 2 to the scene for manpower, Saddle Brook Rescue 1 to fill bottles, Garfield Engine and Rochelle Park truck to cover the firehouses.

One firefighter was sent to the hospital for minor injuries. The fire remains under investigation by the Lodi Fire Prevention Bureau.
