maltese cross Nor'Easter Flood - April 15-16, 2007

On Monday April 16, 2007, the Borough of Lodi experienced the after-effects of a massive Nor-Easter that traveled through our area. Similar to the devastation of Hurricane Floyd, emergency services were dispatched to assist the public and make emergency evacuations/rescues.

Although we suffered equipment losses and damage to our rescue boat and Fire Headquarters, the members of the Lodi Fire Department successfully handled the extensive campaign with professionalism and care.

None of it would have been possible without our mutual-aid assistance. Units from Wallington, Little Ferry, Hasbrouck Heights, Secaucus, Mahwah, Ridgefield, Elmwood Park, Hackensack, Carlstadt, Lyndhurst, North Arlington, Moonachie, East Newark and the State Police unselfishly risked their lives and assets to aid in the disaster.

While so much was damaged in our jurisdiction of both private and public property, we can proudly say that no lives were lost due to an outstanding effort by all.
