maltese cross Compressor Fire - 09/03/2007

On Monday, September 3, 2007, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to what was reported to be a vehicle fire at 340 Essex St.

Upon arrival on scene, Second Assistant Chief Telep reported an air compressor that was still hooked to a utility truck parked in the Getty Gas station fully involved along with a fuel spill in the roadway of Essex Street which was also burning.

The members of the Lodi FD and Hackensack FD Engine 2 quickly extinguished the flames in the roadway and to the compressor with minimal extension to the utility truck that was towing the compressor and no extension to the building which it was parked next to.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
