maltese cross Electrical Fire - 236 Harrison Ave - 09/19/2006

On September 19, a small fire was discovered in the walls of a baloon-construction apartment at 236 Harrison Ave. The Lodi Fire Department responded quickly, having just finished performing an extrication on Route 46, Lodi.

Upon arrival, companies opened up walls on both the second and third (fire) floors. Two 1 3/4" handlines were stretched and charged.

Three families were placed in the care of Red Cross after electric meters were removed by PSE&G.

Engine 615 and Ladder 613 were first-due. Engine 612 fed Ladder 613. Engine 614 was staged at an intersection near the scene and assisted in a full search of the second floor. Second Assistant Chief Joe Baldino was in control of operations and Third Assistant Chief Greg Gelep was Incident Commander.

Mutual Aid was brought in for coverage and then released as the other companies became available.
