All members of the department, including the Junior firefighters are required by NJ law to attend the annual bloodbourne pathogens training presented by the Bergen County Health Department.

Lieutenant Lance Porco was a member of the Lodi Fire Department for 15 years, joining Hose Company 1 in April of 1992. Lance was also a member of the NJ State Firemen's Association, secretary of the Lodi Firemen's Relief Association for the past 4 years and was an alternate for the NJ State Firemen's Convention.
He proudly served as Captain, Lieutenant, President, Vice President and Secretary of Hose Company 1. He was a Level II Fire Instructor with the NJ Division of Fire Safety and an adjunct professor with the Sussex County Community College, teaching Basic Fire Science this past semester. Lance served as a Lodi Fire Department Training Officer since 2006.
Lance was well decorated and played an instrumental part in the development and organization of the newly formed Lodi Fire Department Junior Firefighter Association.
Lance was a Go-Getter. If he had an idea, he used any available resource to turn it into a reality. No matter what the idea was, how hard it would be to accomplish, or how long it would take, he dedicated whatever time and resources he had and consistently improvised, adapted, and overcame.
He will be deeply missed. Our hearts and prayers are with his wife Maggie, son Jake, and his Mother, Father and Brother.

I-300 training will be hosted by the Lodi Fire Department as the training facility for the I-300 Course that will be taught by the Bergen County Fire Academy Instructor Staff.
The Course is a 3 day course which will commence on Thursday March 22 and continue on Sat March 24th and Sun March 25th. Anyone who is a Chief Officer or will be a Chief Officer or may act in the position of a Chief Officer's capacity on or after December 31, 2007 is required to have this Certification. I-200 is a mandatory pre-requisite. For further information contact Chief Baldino, who is also one of the instructors for this course.
